BROWN, RONALD G. (1932 ~ 2022). The following is an obituary for Ronald G. "Ron" Brown, spouse of former Texas House Member Betty Brown. The obituary was provided by Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home of Wills Point.
Ronald George (Ron) Brown went to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on September 26, 2022, at the age of 90 after a short illness. Ron was born May 10, 1932, in Bixby, Oklahoma, the sixth child of Leif and Anna Brown.
He lived near Terrell, Texas most of his adult life. Ron was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, was a retired engineer for E-Systems in Garland, farmed, hunted, fished, sang, traveled, and studied ancestry. He was active politically and served on the WPISD school board, as a Kaufman County elections official, historical society chair, Elmo Water Board member, and served as an elder for Wills Point International Outreach Church. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Ron is survived by his wife, Betty (Pratt) Brown of 63 years, daughter Rhonda Cobern and husband, Parkey, son Greg Brown and wife, Sonia, and daughter Emily Pogue and husband, Randy, grandchildren Tarryn Cobern Hatcher, Tory Cobern Simpson, Tabor Cobern, Denton Brown, Sophia Brown Bowden, Meredith Pogue, Samantha Pogue and Lincoln Pogue, and six great grandchildren, Grayson, Denver, Jewel, Luke, Grace and Mason.
Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
