| JONES, W. T. (1830 ~ 1911). Confederate veteran W.T. Jones was born in Alabama in 1830. During the Civil War he served in Company I, 2nd Alabama Cavalry, Ferguson's Brigade in the Army of Tennessee. He served under Captain Walter Daniels. He enlisted at Warrington, Alabama in 1861.
Jones moved to Texas in 1867 and lived in Harvey, Brazos County. He was a farmer and was widowed before admittance to the Confederate Men's Home in Austin on July 29, 1909. He died there on May 23, 1911 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
