MORGAN, DON BYERS (1935 ~ 2007). The following is an obituary for the Honorable Don B. Morgan, former Justice of the 212nd Judicial District. The obituary was published in the November 8, 2007 edition of the Galveston County Daily News.

"AUSTIN - Judge Don B. Morgan, 71, formerly of Galveston, died November 6, 2007, at the Seton Medical Center in Austin. He was born on December 30, 1935, in Austin, graduated from Austin High, The University of Texas and the UT Law School. He was appointed to the 212th District Court in Galveston in December 1976 and ran twice unopposed. Before becoming a Judge, he practiced law in Texas City with the firm of Simpson, Morgan and Burwell.

He moved to Austin in 1988 to work for the Office of the Attorney General; retired in December 1995 and immediately began sitting as a Visiting Judge.

His wife of 51 years, Mary; daughters Anne Morgan and Sarah Morgan; son Thomas Morgan and daughter-in-law Sheila Lummis, and grandsons Hank and Owen, all of Austin, survive him. His sister Mary Jane Richey and his brother A.D. Morgan and wife Barbara also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held in Austin on Friday, November 9, 2007, at 12 noon at the Texas State Cemetery, 909 Navasota. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or plant a tree in Judge Morgan's memory.
