METCALFE, LINDA ANN MINSHEW (1937 ~ ). Linda Minshew Metcalfe was born to William and Velma Minshew in Hawkins, Texas, on July 9, 1937. She attended Hawkins schools, graduating from Hawkins High School in 1955, where she was a member of the Hawkins High School band.

Linda graduated from Tyler Junior College in 1957. While at TJC she was a member of the Apache Band that performed in the 1957 Sugar Bowl game between Baylor and Tennessee.

She then attended the University of North Texas, graduating cum laude with a business degree in 1959. Later that year she married Don Metcalfe of Dallas in her east Texas hometown of Hawkins.
She and Don were members of the First Baptist Church in Dallas since 1960.

During the marriage they had three children: Robert Scott Metcalfe, Anthony Thomas "Tony" Metcalfe and Carol Ann Metcalfe Thomas, and five grandchildren: Julian Metcalfe, Andrew Thomas, Sarah Thomas Newman, Phillip Metcalfe and Elizabeth Metcalfe.

Her husband Don was Judge of Criminal District Court No. 2, Dallas County, for 12 years beginning in 1973. By the time he finally retired, his judicial service had spanned 32 years, and he had been in private law practice for 24 years. Linda was totally supportive of her husband's endeavors as an attorney and judge, and was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother.

Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of the marriage.

During her life she served in various capacities in both her Church and Criswell College.
