MCCLOUD, MARY ANNE KELLEY (1931 ~ ). Mary Anne Kelley McCloud was born on November 17, 1931 in Colorado City, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and did graduate studies at the University of Nevada and Hardin Simmons Universtiy in Abilene.

She has long been active in the Methodist church, the fields of education and the arts, and in the community. She has served as teaching director of the Community Bible Study in the Methodist church, teacher, volunteer, art gallery owner, and consultant. She is a former board member of the West Texas Girl Scout Council, library board chairman, District Governor of Beautify Texas, and board member of Eastland County Hospital Board. While teaching she helped establish a reading program chosen as one of the 50 best in the United States.

She has been a member of the Chancellor's Council of the University of Texas System and has served as a member and secretary of the Texas Commission on the Arts. She and her husband have long been supporters of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where she has served as a Member of the Board of Visitors and now serves as a member-at-large.

She is responsible along with her son-in-law, Henry Musselman, for originating the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center fundraiser "Polo on the Prairie". Over the years close to $1.5 million has been raised from "Polo on the Prairie". In 1995 Mrs. McCloud received the Loving Hearts and Caring Hands Award from the Department of Chaplaincy at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. A meditation room located in the Albert B. and Margaret M. Alkek Hospital in Houston is named in honor of Judge and Mrs. McCloud and their daughter and son-in-law the Musselmans.

The McClouds have two daughters Melinda Musselman (Mrs. Henry) and Sharon Burgher (Mrs. David). They are loving grandparents to Louisa Musselman, Luke Musselman, Molly Musselman, Mary Peyton Burgher, Nancy Burgher, and David Burgher, III.
