| MANN, JOHN H. (1841 ~ 1910). Confederate veteran John Mann was born in Tennessee in 1841. During the Civil War he belonged to Company E, 23rd Texas Cavalry, DeBray's Brigade.
The 23rd was assigned to Texas and fought in the Red River Campaign, Mansfield, and Pleasant Hill. He moved to Texas in 1850 and lived in Boyd County with his wife and was a farmer.
He was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home twice. The first time was on March 4, 1902 and he was released at his request on April 23, 1904. He was readmitted on January 17, 1908 died at the home on February 25, 1910.
