BUNDRANT, PETER (1820 ~ 1909). Confederate veteran Peter Bundrant was born in Virginia in 1820. He moved to Texas in 1858 or 1884, records conflict. Moving to Texas in 1858 is the more logical choice as he joined a Texas Civil War Regiment.

According to Compiled Military Service records, Bundrant joined the First Texas Infantry Battalion, State Troops, in August of 1863. It was a volunteer unit only in existence for six months. Bundrant was a sergeant. Records indicate he was dispatched from the unit to work on a Brazos River bridge. Those same records indicate he was from Fayette County.

He was a widowed farmer who suffered from a fractured wrist and old age when he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on November 11, 1895. He died at the Home on April 3, 1909 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
