SPARKS, GENELL MCBEE (1924 ~ 1996). The following is an obituary for Genell McBee Sparks, spouse of James Thomas Sparks (deceased) who was a member of the Texas House of Representatives. The obituary was published in the January 13, 1996 edition of the Austin American Statesman.
"Nell Sparks, age 72 of Austin, died Friday, January 12, 1996.
Mrs. Sparks was a retired Registered Nurse and worked for many years at St. David's Hospital before serving in private practice in Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Jim T. Sparks, former State Legislator; brothers, Carl McBee and M. J. McBee of Dorchester, Texas; sister, Mable Wedberg of Rockville, Maryland and also several nieces and nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Dr. Ray Martens officiating. Burial will be in the State Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Concordia University, or a favorite charity.

Sparks was born in Howe, Texas on July 21, 1924 to John Oliver and Eula Farris Powell McBee. She died in Round Rock, Texas.
