MYERS, JACOB (1821 ~ 1908). Confederate veteran Jacob Myers was born in Pennsylvania in 1821.

During the Civil War he belonged to Company D, 16th Texas Cavalry, Rust's Brigade. The 16th Texas Cavalry was assigned to the 3rd Brigade commanded by H.E. McCullock, Scurry, and Waterhouse of John G. Walker's "Greyhound" Division. They were assigned to Arkansas and Louisiana.

Myers moved to Texas in 1852 and lived in Parker County where he was a Christian. Myers was a widowed teacher when he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on November 5, 1906. He died September 2, 1908 at the Home was buried in the Texas State Cemetery shortly after.
