REYNOLDS, RICHARD FLOYD (1927 ~ 2014). The following is an obituary for Richard Floyd Reynolds, former state legislator. The obituary was published in the February 19, 2014 edition of the Austin American Statesman.
Richard Floyd "Dick" Reynolds" passed away Feb. 17 in Fort Worth. He was 86.
He was a much loved husband, father and grandfather, and a respected Army veteran, businessman, lawmaker and government leader. He was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Flint, Ohio. He moved to Richardson, Texas, in 1960, where he was elected to the city council and began his rise in Texas politics. He served in the Texas Legislature from 1973-1977.
He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Donna Reynolds; six children, Brad Reynolds of Austin, Guy Reynolds of Dallas, Jack Reynolds of Frisco, Eric Reynolds of Mansfield, Ann Marie of Boulder, Colo., and Holly Job of Stephenville; 11 grandchildren; brother, Jack Reynolds of Canal Winchester, Ohio; and sister, Marilyn Lawless Worthington, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Weed-Corley-Fish North Funeral Home in Austin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway in Austin. Interment will follow at the Texas State Cemetery.
