WRIGHT, JAMES ALVIS (1929~ ) James Alvis Wright was born August 22, 1929 to Armon Alvis and Naomi Estella Wright. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Texas. Wright served the state of Texas faithfully and honorably for 35 years as a law enforcement officer. He joined the Texas Department of Public Safety as a highway patrolman on January 3, 1957, and served in that capacity until he was accepted into the Texas Rangers on September 1, 1969. Captain Wright was promoted to Sergeant of the Texas Rangers on October 15, 1981, and to Captain on September 1, 1986. He retired October 31, 1991. As a highway patrolman, Captain Wright was stationed in Marlin, Falls county, and Clifton, Bosque county. As a Texas Ranger, he was assigned to Company F in Waco. As a sergeant and captain, he was stationed in Dallas with Company B. Captain Wright held an advanced certificate in law enforcement and received many letters of accommodation throughout his career. He was a member of the Clifton Lions Club, Texas Sheriff?s Association, Texas Police Association, North Texas Coordinating Council on Law Enforcement, Texas Rangers Association Foundation, Texas Rangers Association, and was chairman of the City of Hewitt Board of Adjustment. |
