LYNCH, BENJAMIN (1833~1902) Benjamin Lynch, Confederate veteran. Other than his military service, no other information about Mr. Lynch is currently known.

According to his headstone, Lynch was a captain of Company A, 11th (Spaight's) Cavalry and Infantry Battalion. Originally, he was a member of the 6th Texas Infantry Battalion, which was absorbed into Spaight's Battalion in April, 1862. The unit served in the Department of Texas, but was later assigned to Hebert's Brigade in the Trans-Mississippi Department.

In the Spring of 1864, the unit, along with Griffin's Texas Infantry Battalion, merged into the 21st Texas Infantry Regiment. The unit was stationed at Sabine Pass, but later moved to Louisiana. After returning to Texas, the unit disbanded before the Confederate surrender in June, 1865.
