BEAVER. CLARA LAWHON (1929 ~ 2014). The following is an obituary for Clara Lawhon Beaver spouse of Clifford Beaver. The obituary was published in the February 17 edition of the Elgin Courier.
Clara Belle Beaver, age 84, of Elgin went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014 . She was born on June 24, 1929 in New Sweden. Texas to Lee and Eva Lawhon. She grew up in Bishop Texas on a farm and graduated from Corpus Christi Ray High School in 1947.
She met Clifford Alton Beaver in February of 1953 and they were married on July 21, 1953 Clara loved her dogs and her last one “Duchess” was especially dear to her. She loved to work outside in the yard and she and Clifford received the “Yard of the Month” award several times in the subdivision where they lived.
She worked as an accountant for the Austin Independent School District for many years and enjoyed a long and happy retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers. Clara is survived only by her husband of 60 years, Clifford Beaver.
A Celebration of Clara’s Life was held 10a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. She was laid to rest in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
