CHAPMAN, ANNA LOUISE BARGANIER (1910~1998) Anna Louise Barganier Chapman, wife of Alton Brooks Chapman, was born on July 3, 1910, in Lott, Texas to Alonza and Maud Barganier. Mrs. Chapman attended schools in Lott and graduated from the College of Industrial Arts (now Texas Women's University).
Following graduation, she moved to Spur, Texas to teach home economics. There she met and later married Alton Brooks Chapman. They married at the Highlands Mansion in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, on August 27, 1932. They had three sons.
After Alton's appointment as District Judge of Floyd County, the youngest District Judge in Texas, the couple and their sons; moved to Floydada, Texas where they resided for eighteen years. Alton was elected to the Court of Civil Appeals in Amarillo in 1957 and Mrs. Chapman sold real estate for Ada Glenn Realtors. She was selected as the realtor of the year in Amarillo at the time.
In 1969, following Chapman's retirement from the Court of Civil Appeals, they moved to Gatesville, Texas, near their family ranch.
Following Chapman's death, Mrs. Chapman moved to Presbyterian Village North in Dallas, where she passed away on July 8, 1998. She was buried next to her husband in the Texas State Cemetery four days later.
