PITTMAN, ELINOR WILLIS (1923~2005) Elinor Willis "Punkin" Pittman, wife of Herbert Crawford "Pitt" Pittman, was born October 2, 1923, in Hico, Hamilton County, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Connally Willis. After enrolling in the University of Texas, she was a Pi Beta Phi and later headed their alumnae advisory board. After marrying H. C. Pittman and moving to Austin, she served as President of the Junior League of Austin, the State Official Ladies Club, and school PTA organizations. In addition, she served Seton Medical Center, the March of Dimes, the United Way, Good Shepherd Church, the Travis County Juvenile Home, and the Settlement Club of Austin.
Throughout her life she exhibited warmth, elegance, loyalty, and kindness. She loved Frank Sinatra and Tommy Tune, the Longhorns, maj jongg, her garden flowers, and all of the dogs at Woodstone Square, who came to her house for milk bones.
Elinor Willis "Punkin" Pittman, who passed away April 9, 2005, was as gracious in age and infimity as in her vibrant years. She was a devoted wife and mother to her late husband, H.C. Pittman, and her daughters, Ann Pittman Hanna and Nancy Pittman. She cherished her grandsons, Trent Connally Hanna and Todd Pittman Hanna, his wife, Mari Allan, and her great-grandson, Dillon Todd Hanna.
