| REAVLEY, THOMAS MORROW (1921 ~ 2020). The following is an obituary for Thomas Morrow Reavley, former Texas Supreme Court Justice and Texas Secretary of State. The obituary was derived from Cemetery file materials.
Thomas Morrow Reavley was born June 21, 1921 in Quitman, Wood County, Texas, to Thomas Mark and Matty Morrow Reavley.
After high school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received his B. A., Harvard, where he received his J. D., and Virginia, where he received his L. L. M. Reavley also served in the U. S. Naval Reserve from 1942 -1945, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant.
After receiving his J. D. Degree, Reavley practiced law and entered politics. He served as County Attorney of Nacogdoches, Secretary of State, District Judge in Travis County, Supreme Court Justice, and was appointed to the U. S. Court of Appeals.
