FOERSTER, EVA BRAGG (1930~2000) Eva Bragg Foerster was born in Henrietta, Texas, to Eva and John Bragg. She married Homer Foerster in 1951, and they lived in Austin for over forty years. Her husband, Homer, was Executive Director of the State Purchasing and General Services Commission until 1985. After moving to Austin, Eva worked for ARL, then spent many years at home caring for her eldest daughter, Lisa. In 1976, Eva received a B.S. in Elementary Education with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Eva taught kindergarten at Maplewood Elementary for several years, then became co-owner of the Isely School with her husband, Homer, and partners, Mary and Wayne Brown. She retired as teacher and director after the death of her husband. Eva was an enthusiastic member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a devoted mother and friend. Her wit, intelligence, generosity, and passion for life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She passed away on June 4, 2000. Biography taken from Austin American Statesman, June 6, 2000. |
