BARNES, LOIS FRITCH (1932 ~ 2018). The following is an obituary for Lois Fritch Barnes, spouse of Bobby Joe Barnes, member of the Texas Industrial Accident Board. The obituary was provided by Cook-Walden Funeral Home of Austin.

Lois Faye Barnes, age 86, passed away November 25th at 2:45 PM at Hill Country Care, a loving and caring community nursing home in Dripping Springs, Texas surrounded by her family. From her birth on January 30th, 1932 to her death on Sunday, she nourished people around her with love, kindness and compassion.

She was born in Baytown, Texas to Virgil and Ruby Fritch. She Graduated High School in Conroe, Texas. She was the youngest of two children. The oldest, her brother was killed in a car accident in early 1950. It was with his passing that she became close to Bobby Barnes. She and Bobby married in August 1950. After her marriage, she worked in the Conroe area until Bobby was discharged from the Army and they moved to Baytown. Together they had three children, one son and two daughters. She spent 15+ years working as a clerk for Harris County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, in Baytown, Texas. Upon retirement, she moved to Austin, Texas and then to Dripping Springs where she continued to touch the lives of friends and family. Some of her favorite times were to care for her grandchildren and exemplify pride for her husband and family.

Left to honor Lois and remember her love are her children Richard (Angie) Barnes, Sue (Steve) Sullivan, Pam (Monty) Neely; grandchildren Craig (Kayla) Sullivan, Jennifer (Marco) Loaiza, Kristi (Daniel) Garrett, Kari (Chase) Kruger, and Lance Barnes; step grandchildren Juan (Holly) Barajas, Cesar (Nicole) Barajas, Joaquin Barajas; great grandchildren Hadley, Case, Kinley, Raylan, Emerson, Lincoln and Bennett; and step great grandchildren Ascencia, Nicholas, Isai, Mateo, and Elia. In addition, Lois was blessed to serve as mother to Susie (Bobby) Hunter; grandmother to Michael (Joan) Hunter and great grandmother to Emily Hunter.

A Funeral Service in memory of Lois will be held on Friday, November 30th 2018 at 10:00 AM at Cook- Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Meyer of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Texas State Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be made to the Bluebonnet Auxiliary, P O Box 921, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
