WALKER, JOSEPHINE MARIA ROBERTS(1871^1951) Josephine Maria Roberts Walker was born Deceber 16, 1871 in Nacogdoches, Texas to John F. and (Josephine?) Walker. Her paternal grandfather was John S. Roberts, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. She married George Tully Walker and they had several children (the exact number is unknown). Mr. Walker died in 1925. Mrs. Walker lived in the Confederate Woman's Home from November 25, 1945 until January 26, 1946 when she moved to Mrs. A.M. Winchester's home, her daughter. Josephine Walker died July 31, 1951 at the age of 79 in the Austin State Hospital. Cause of death was listed as pulmonary tuberculosis. Her gravesite was reinterred from Confederate Field Section D, Row A, Plot 4 to Confederate Field, Section 2, Row H, Plot 4 during the Texas State Cemetery Restoration Project 1995-1997.
