BUTLER, SUSIE PEALE (1878~1949) Susie Peale Butler was born December 7, 1878, in Louisiana to William Alexander Peale and Emily Welch, both of Mississippi. She worked as Superintendent of the Confederate Women's Home in Austin.
Her son, George B. Butler, Jr., was a member of the Texas House of Representatives and Life Insurance Commissioner and Chairman of the Board of Insurance Commissioners of Texas.
She died November 9, 1949, in Austin, Travis County, Texas and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery by Governor's Proclamation.
