FLIPPEN, DON C.(1843~1940). Don C. Flippen was born on November 9, 1843 in Smith County, Tennessee to Tillmon B. Flippen, of Virginia, and Araminta Cheek, of Tennessee.

During the war, Flippen fought with Company C of the 4th Tennessee Cavalry in Tom Harrison's Brigade in Wheeler's Division of the Tennessee Army.

Flippen moved to Texas in 1869 and settled in McKinney, where he was a farmer. Due to his advanced age, Flippen was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home in Austin on September 9, 1924. He spent the last sixteen years of his life in the Home and died on March 27, 1940.
