JONES, CALVIN E. (1834 ~ 1932). Confederate veteran Calvin Jones was born in Kinston, North Carolina on August 25 1834. During the Civil War he belonged Company A, 40th North Carolina State Troops, Lamb's Brigade. He enlisted in June 25, 1861 and was captured March 18, 1865 at Kinston.

Jones moved to Texas in 1871 and lived in Houston, Harris County where he was member of the Baptist Church. He was single carriage maker before his admittance to the Confederate Men's Home in Austin on June 15, 1927, where he died March 26, 1932. He was buried at the Texas State Cemetery shortly after his death.
