| RODGERS, LAFAYETTE (1849 ~ 1930). Confederate veteran Lafayette Rodgers was born in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1849.
During the Civil War he worked in a cartridge factory. He was sent to Bonham, Texas as a courier. Rodgers enlisted in May 1864 and served until March 1865. He was discharged and sent home by a "General McCullough."
Rodgers moved to Texas in 1852 and lived in San Antonio, Bexar County where he was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He was a widowed salesman before he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on August 31, 1921. He was then transferred to the State Hospital on June 9, 1922.
Rodgers died March 23, 1931 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
