BOYD, DAVID (1842 ~ 1928). Confederate veteran David Boyd was born in 1842 in Georgia. The Boyd family moved to Texas in 1852.

David Boyd enlisted in the Confederate Army on March 8, 1862 in Navarro County, Texas. He was enrolled as a Private and was assigned to Company E of the 13th Texas Volunteer Regiment and served through September 1864. The unit fought solely in Texas and was sometimes known as Bates' regiment.

He returned to Navarro County to become a farmer and passed away July 9, 1928 at the Confederate Men's Home in Austin. He was buried July 10 at the Texas State Cemetery.
