HANSEN, ELIZA JANE CULP (1848~1926) Eliza Jane Culp Hansen, wife of Confederate veteran J. C. Hansen, was born in 1848 in Tennessee. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Hanson moved to Austin to live in the Confederate Woman's Home. She stayed in the Home until November 24, 1923, when she was transferred to the Austin Lunatic Asylum, now called the Austin State Hospital. Mrs. Hansen died at the Asylum on March 13, 1926, and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery the next day.
