EZELL, ROBERT M. (1842-1923) Robert Ezell was born in Alabama in 1842. Little is known about his early life until he was mustered into the 54th Alabama Infantry Company C on June 25, 1861.

Ezell was engaged in many battles including Fort Pemberton, Baker's Creek, Bentonville-Arkansas and the Dalton-Atlanta Campaign. After the Battle of Atlanta he was promoted to 3rd Sergeant. He was captured by the Union in Georgia September 1, 1864.

Ezell moved to Montgomery County, Texas in 1869 where he resided for the next 35 years in the teaching profession. Ezell died January 19, 1923 at the age of 81.
