CHEAIRS, ALBERT L. (1842~1918)Albert L. Cheairs was born on March 26, 1842 in Hardeman, Tennessee. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in April of 1861 in Smith's Brigade, Sheathim's Division, Polk's Corps, Army of Tennessee. He was wounded at Shiloh, captured at the Battle of Missionary Ridge, and imprisoned at Rock Island for fifteen months. He was paroled in March of 1865.

He married Prudence Higgs on January 10, 1866. Prudence was born in 1845. They had one child named Edwin Cheairs born in October of 1868 in Tennessee who married a woman named Georgia. They had one child named Ora Cheairs born in July of 1899 in Polk County, Tennessee.
