| DULA, ELLA S. (1935 ~ 2023). The following is an obituary for Ellas S. Dula, spouse of Alfred A. Dula. The obituary was provided by Cook-Walden Funeral Home of Austin.
Ella was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 10, 1935 to parents Floyd and Chrystal Brown Stocker. She graduated from Amarillo High School.
Ella married Alfred A. Dula on June 3, 1989, the date of their second marriage. She supported her husband in his successful oil field supply and agriculture activities. They had residences in Houston, Brenham, Bandera, Buda, San Antonio, Austin, Waco and Georgetown. After Mr. Dula’s death, Ella resided in Tyler and Waco prior to moving to Boerne in May of 2022.
Mrs. Dula was a member of numerous Southern Baptist churches and enjoyed playing bridge, table games and traveling to many locations through out the world. She was a staunch supporter of Baylor University athletic teams and received a Baylor by Choice honorary degree.
Her only child, a daughter Trudy Peel Sanders, preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her son-in-law William B. Sanders of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; Step Children-Alfred A. Dula, Jr., Victoria Dula Costello, and Matthew Dula; and Step Grandchildren Kimber Sanders Spradlin, Andrew Costello, Courtney Costello Castleberry, and Byron Dula. Her siblings preceded her in death- Jo Ann Stocker Hurd and Ronny Stocker.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on June 2, 2023 at her final resting place in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
