BELYEU, BERRY (1817~1916) Berry Belyeu (or Belyew) was born in Georgia in 1817. During the Civil War, he fought in Company K of the 27th Virginia in Hoke's Brigade in the Virginia Army.

After the war, Belyeu moved to Texas in 1886, where he worked as a farmer in Prairieville, Texas. On July 12, 1916, Belyeu was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home in Austin, Texas, where he lived until his death on October 5, 1916.
