SCRIBNER, EDNA MOODY (1938 ~ 2014). The following is an obituary for Edna Moody Scribner, spouse of Brigadier General Jack Scribner. The obituary was provided by Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels.

Edna Ruth (Moody) Scribner passed away on Saturday June 21, 2014 in New Braunfels, Texas.

She was born in Portales, New Mexico on November 3, 1938. Edna spent most of her childhood and young adult life in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1956 and married John C.L. Scribner on February 1, 1957. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1971. She was a loving wife and mother with numerous talents and passions.

Edna is survived by her mother Ruth Moody; brothers Noel Bowley and Orrin Moody; sister Sara Williams; son Derek Scribner and daughter-in-law Kerry; granddaughter Emma; grandson Nolan; and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 189 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels, Texas on Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 1620 E. Common St., New Braunfels, Texas. Interment will be at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas.

Memorial donations may be given to the Brigadier General John C.L. Scribner Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry, Texas.
