ANDERSON, SANDRA LEE (1947 ~ 2015). The following is an obituary for Sandra Lee Anderson, spouse of former Texas House Member Charles "Doc" Anderson. The obituary was provided by Pecan Grove Funeral Home of Waco.

Sandra Lee Anderson, 67, of Lorena, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015. After a heroic battle of 28 years with Multiple Myeloma. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene, 3336 Garden Drive, Waco, TX 76706. She will be laid to rest at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco.

Sandy was born on August 22, 1947 to Charles and Glendine Sears in Richwood, West Virginia. She graduated from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, New York in 1966. On August 21, 1981, she married Charles Anderson and lived in Lorena until her time of death.

Sandy served her community in many ways. She was a dedicated servant to her community, involving herself with organizations such as the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo, as well as the McLennan County Republican Ladies Club and McLennan County Republican Club. She managed and helped her husband at Anderson Veterinary Hospital and Top Notch Ranch, as well as in many aspects of her husband’s political campaigns. She was a very courageous and strong lady. Sandy was an avid bowler and competed at local, state and national levels with her local team, The Byrd House for over 25 years. After suffering a diseased fracture of her right arm, she refused to quit, and developed a left hand delivery. Sandy was a rabid football fan of both the fighting Texas Aggies and Dallas Cowboys. Sandy loved the good Lord and spent her entire life in fierce love and support of her family, friends and critters. She will be dearly missed by all. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Sears, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband and compadre, Charles ‘Doc” Anderson; son, Thomas Schmidt; grandsons, Jonathan Reyes, Bradlee Estes and Jaeson Estes; loving mother and matriarch, Glendine M. Sears; sister Charlotte and husband Robert Cornell; niece, Rachael M. Benson; brother, Charles W. Sears, Jr. and Kelly; nieces, Auburn, Anna and Caitlyn Sears; nephew Charles W. Sears, III; as well as many other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Thomas Schmidt, Chuck Sears, Jr., Bob Cornell, Robert Anderson, Gerald Grope, Steve Ostrom, Wallace Luna and Gerald Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Johnson, Ralph Patterson, Jimmy Swor, Bob Orris, Clayton Hadley, Gene 'Papa' Bird and Richard Wallace.
