DAVIS, FRED WALLIS (1938~) Fred W. Davis, state district judge, was born in San Angelo, Texas on January 16, 1938, but was raised in Alpine. After high school, he attended Sul Ross State University, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Honor and was named as a distinguished alumnus. After graduating in 1960, he attended law school at Baylor University, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in February 1962.

After law school, Davis went into private practice in Fort Worth and became active in the Arlington Bar Association, of which he was president in 1971. In 1988, he successfully ran for judge of the 17th Judicial District of Texas. He was sworn into office in January 1989, and, in 1995, was elected by his fellow judges as Local Administrative Judge of the Tarrant County Judiciary. He held that post for one year.

Judge Davis is married to the former Linda Bierman, who is currently serving as a Justice of the Peace for Tarrant County.
