Stephen F. Austin Celebration Saturday (11/3)

The Texas State Cemetery will host the 219^th Birthday Celebration/Memorial for Stephen F. Austin, Father of Texas, on Saturday November 3.  The event is sponsored by the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Moses Austin Chapter, Austin, Texas.  In addition, there will be a dedication of a Texas Ranger Cross sponsored by the Former Texas Ranger Association. 

 

There will be re-enactors from the Texas Independence era, the Texas Rangers, and the Civil War era.  The Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and will conclude with rifle and cannon volleys. Note – cannon fire will be quite loud. 

 

The Ceremony is open to the public.
