RYMAN, ALLISON (1833 ~ 1915). Confederate veteran Allison Ryman was born in 1833 in Kentucky, though his exact birth date and place of birth are unknown.

He moved to Texas at an unknown time, but enlisted in the Confederate Army on September 10, 1861 at San Antonio. He was assigned to Company G of the Third Texas Infantry as a Third Lieutenant and received a promotion to Second Lieutenant a month later. The Third Regiment was charged with guarding and patrolling the Texas Gulf Coast, but was never involved in any armed conflicts. The outfit disbanded in June of 1865.

After the Civil War, Ryman was a farmer.

Ryman became a resident of the Confederate Men's Home in Austin at an unspecified time. He died at the Home on February 8, 1915 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery the following day.
