CURETON, ROBERT M. (1843~1909)Robert Cureton was born in Georgia in 1843. During the Civil War he served in Company B, 32nd Georgia Infantry in the Army of Tennessee. The 32nd Georgia Infantry was under the command of Colonel George P. Harrison, Jr, and they defended Charleston, South Carolina and fought at the Battle of Olustee, Florida in 1864. They surrendered on April 26, 1865 in North Carolina. There is no mention of Robert M. Cureton on any muster roll for the 32nd Georgia Infantry.
Cureton came to Texas in 1868, and lived in Llano, Llano County. He was a single stage driver. Cureton was admitted to the Texas Confederate Home on December 16, 1908 where he died November 21, 1909. |
