| MCDONALD, MARTHA JAY WINN (1914 ~ 1994). Martha Jay Winn McDonald was born in Texas on December 14, 1914. She was born to William David Winn and Lena Williams.
McDonald graduated from the University of Texas in 1936. While attending the University she was a Bluebonnet Belle and Queen of the Texas Relays which held wide acclaim in the nation at that time. She was also a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She taught primary school in Hargill, Texas for one year and then married Felix Lynn McDonald in 1937.
Martha Jay continued to teach elementary school in Edinburg, Texas for 25 years while Felix practiced law and held many political offices in service to the people of the State of Texas. Martha Jay was also very active in several service clubs in Edinburg.
In 1948, they adopted Jay Lynn, their only daughter. Martha Jay was a devoted wife to Felix by supporting him in his political campaigns, election parties and trips back and forth from Edinburg to Austin. She was a perfect Mother to her daughter, Jay Lynn, in every way.
She died on July 11, 1994 in Bakersfield, California.
