CAVEN, HUBBARD SCOTT (1903 ~ 1978). Hubbard Caven served in the Texas House of Representatives for four years, from January 13, 1931 to January 8, 1935. Caven represented the Fifth district as a Democrat, encompassing Harrison County and the City of Marshall.
After leaving public service, Caven worked as a lobbyist in Austin. The February 7, 1969 edition of the Victoria Advocate mentioned Caven in the article "A Roll Call of Lobbyists in Austin Who Know More Than Most Legislators." The article says Caven was "chief marshall of the Texas Railroad Association (24 companies), heads that organization's lobby."
Hubbard Caven was married to Mary Isabel Riddle Caven for 44 years before he died in Austin. Caven is the uncle of former Texas House Member Walter Caven.
