In 1961 he left politics to build what has now become Vallance Security, Inc.  He and Rose moved from their San Antonio home 35 years ago to the peaceful life of farm living in New Berlin, Texas.  It was on the farm that he enjoyed his horses, raising cattle and golden labs, and riding his tractor always surrounded by family.  He treasured fishing trips to the coast and attending anything that involved his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Margaret, Malcom, Clifford and an infant brother, and his one and only true love, his wife of 68 years, Rose Stipp Vallance.  He is survived by his children: Robert Vallance II (Nadene), Kathleen Beierle (Larry), and Luanna Burns (Daryl).  His grandchildren: Robert Vallance III (Andrea), Stacilyn Hawkins (Chris), Charles Beierle (Amy), Samuel Beierle (Aimee), Heather McDaniel (T.J.), Micah- John Beierle (Shannon), and Lauren Trammell (Eric).  His great- grandchildren: Nicholas and Christopher Vallance, Clayton and Colby Hawkins, Gary and J.C.
