Saturday Events at the Cemetery **Grounds Closures** (04/22/2017)

The Texas State Cemetery will host one private event and two public burials on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

The private event is scheduled at 10 a.m. and will last until noon. Grounds will be closed to the public during that time.

Graveside services for former Texas Commissioner of Insurance, David Calvin Mattax, will take place at 1 p.m. Grounds will be open to friends and family to attend the service. Parking inside the Cemetery will be limited to 25 vehicles. Attendees are encouraged to park on Navasota Street in front of the administration building where carts will be available to give rides to the gravesite. Grounds will be closed to the general public from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Please consult map below.

Graveside services for former Texas House Member Gary Thompson are scheduled for 4 p.m. Grounds will be open to friends and family for the service, but will be closed to the general public until Sunday morning at 8 a.m.  Please consult map below.
