Lit-Crawl Event Deemed a Success

The Texas State Cemetery would like to thank everyone who came to Saturday night's book signings and moonlight tours. It was the second year in a row that the Austin Lit-Crawl had an event at the Texas State Cemetery and by all accounts, it was a success. An estimated 200 to 250 people attended.

Author Mark Z. Danielewski started the evening off with a reading and question and answer session. Danielewski said the Cemetery event was one of the best attended on his book tour, second only to an event in Brooklyn, New York. Danielewski drew a large number of fans who stayed for him signing his new book, The Fifty Year Sword and also took the Cemetery tours. Danielewski signed books for almost an hour to satisfy demand. Jason Walker and Will Erwin led guided Cemetery tours as Danielewski signed his book. After the Cemetery tours, Walker and Erwin signed their book, Texas State Cemetery.

Lit-Crawl organizers have already expressed interest in returning next year for another event at the Cemetery and based on attendance and enthusiasm of this year's crowd, there will certainly be another round of moonlight tours next October. Below are two pictures of the event, author Danielewski in the first and an enthusiastic young reader in the second.
